Nima Mowzoon, MD, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Nima Mowzoon, MD, MBA, Chief Executive Officer, began his educational journey at the University of Miami School of Medicine and continued, completing both his internship in internal medicine and neurology residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Mowzoon completed his neurophysiology and neuromuscular fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Mowzoon started his career in Albany, NY where he began clinical practice until 2007 when he moved to Ft. Myers, FL. Dr. Mowzoon, in coordination with the ALS Association and LMHS, founded and sponsored the only Southwest Florida multidisciplinary ALS clinic in 2009.
Dr. Mowzoon also developed the rapid response acute stroke protocol at Lee Memorial Health System and founded/chaired a multidisciplinary quality committee of which overlooked the quality of care of stroke patients. Dr. Mowzoon became the Director of Stroke and Vascular Neurology at Lee Health System, and along with establishing all protocols of care and advancing the program to Comprehensive Designation, was also responsible for establishing the transitional care clinic “Lee Prevent”, which provides stroke patients rapid access to outpatient clinic follow-up care after hospitalization.
Dr. Mowzoon then founded Virtual Neurology, a national telemedicine company, in 2012 and later founded TeleSpecialists. Since inception, the companies have grown to provide care across the United States under multiple corporate contracts and partnerships. Dr. Mowzoon currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for both companies.

Daryoush Zafar, DPM, MBA
Managing Partner Finance and Contracting
Daryoush Zafar, DPM, MBA, Managing Partner, Finance and Contracting, received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry from Pace University in New York followed by his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed comprehensive residency training in surgery of foot, ankle and leg at Cabrini Medical Center, affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, with emphasis on re-constructive surgery, trauma and limb salvage.
Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Zafar served as an assistant residency director and teaching faculty at South Shore Hospital and wound care center in Miami Beach and Clinical Faculty of Barry University School of Graduate Medical Sciences in Miami for about four years before joining Associates in Medicine and Surgery.
In addition to extensive training and experience in care of lower extremities, Dr. Zafar has been an investigator in several clinical research projects for advances in Wound Care and Diabetic Foot.
In 2014, Dr. Zafar earned Master’s in Business Administration in Health Sector Management from University of Miami, Florida. In the same year, Dr. Zafar co-founded TeleSpecialists, a telemedicine company that provides teleneurology and telestroke services for hospitals nationally. In a very short period of time TeleSpecialists has established itself as a national leader in quality of care in teleneurology. TeleSpecialists provides care in more 300 hospitals in 33 states in the Unites States. Dr. Zafar currently serves as managing partner for TeleSpecialists.

Amanda Avila, MD
Managing Partner Medical Staff Division
Amanda Avila, MD, Managing Partner, Medical Staff Division, began her educational journey at Boston College where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. She completed her medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and went on to complete her neurology training at Brown University.
Dr. Avila moved to Ft. Myers in 2012 after completing her fellowship at the University of Florida Center for movement disorders and Neuro-restoration. Dr. Avila began her career as the Medical Director for the Hope Parkinson Program in Lee County.
Dr. Avila is certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and she specializes in movement disorders. She enjoys regularly lecturing to patient and medical professionals, focusing on improving the quality of life of patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
Dr. Avila enjoys golfing, boating and spending quality time with her children and family. She is also a Red Sox fan!

Alberto Figueroa-Garcia, MD
Managing Partner Clinical Informatics
Alberto Figueroa-Garcia, MD, Managing Partner Physician Professional Development, began his educational journey at the University of Miami where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Figueroa completed Medical School in Puerto Rico and moved on to complete his Neurology residency and fellowship at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine.
Dr. Figueroa joined Virtual Neurology and TeleSpecialists in 2014.
Dr. Figueroa is certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and while he enjoys all aspects of neurology, he has a special interest in the treatment of epilepsy and related disorders.

Adam Heller, MD
Managing Partner Operations
Adam Heller, MD, Managing Partner, Operations, is originally from the NY metro area. He earned his BA in political science from the University of Michigan, and graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine with his MD in 2003. He then completed his Adult Neurology residency followed by a Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.
After completing his training, Dr. Heller and his family moved to Fort Myers, FL where he joined a private practice and became an active member of the local hospital system medical staff. This included four years as medical director of their Vascular Neurology service, supporting four primary stroke centers and overseeing the transition of one of those facilities to a DNV certified comprehensive stroke center.
In 2013, Dr. Heller became one of the founding partners of TeleSpecialists, and by 2017 was focusing his practice on telestroke and teleneurogy full time. He has worked closely with new hospital clients in lean transformations of stroke process, helping over 100 hospitals incorporate telestroke and teleneurology rounding into their workflows.
Dr. Heller and his family now reside in Sarasota, FL where he enjoys golfing and his newfound hobby of long distance running. He completed his first marathon in early 2020.

Mohammed Zaman, DO
Managing Partner Quality and Performance Improvement
Mohammed Zaman, MD, Managing Partner, Quality and Performance Improvement, joined Telespecialists in 2014 as a Virtual Neurologist practicing telemedicine. Prior to TeleSpecialists he worked as an independent vascular neurologist covering Largo Medical Center, Tampa Community Hospital, and was a Stroke Attending for USF COM Neurology program.
He is a Floridian who grew up in the Orlando area and moved to South Florida to complete his undergraduate and Medical school training at Nova Southeastern University. He did his Neurology residency at the University of South Florida. He settled down in Tampa, Florida after completing a Vascular Neurology fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is married with three children, who he enjoys spending time with when not working. He loves to travel with family, enjoys skiing, biking, and playing basketball.

Kristi Iannucci, MBA
Chief Information Officer
Kristi serves as Chief Information Officer at TeleSpecialists, where she leads the organization’s technology strategy, enterprise systems, data governance, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives. She oversees the company’s IT operations, business intelligence and data platforms, systems integration, and enterprise technology roadmap, while helping drive operational excellence and innovation across the organization.
With an extensive background spanning technology, operations, client management, marketing, and business development, Kristi brings a unique blend of strategic leadership and hands-on operational expertise. She has played a key role in the development and expansion of numerous telehealth programs, including Telepsychiatry, Tele-EMS, Teleneurology, Tele-Dialysis, Tele-Genetics, Tele-perinatology, and Tele-ICU initiatives. She was also an advocate for telehealth advancement in the state of Arizona, contributing to initiatives that helped support legislative changes related to telehealth reimbursement.
Before joining TeleSpecialists, Kristi held a senior leadership position with Summit Healthcare, where she led the development of multiple telehealth programs, including telestroke and teleneurohospitalist services supported by TeleSpecialists. Through that partnership, she developed a strong appreciation for the organization’s focus on quality, innovation, and service excellence, which ultimately inspired her move from Arizona to Florida to join the company.
Kristi is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration as well as an MBA in Healthcare Management.
Outside of work, Kristi enjoys life on the water, discovering Florida’s hidden gems, and taking advantage of the state’s year-round outdoor lifestyle. She has a passion for travel, cruises, wine tasting, and all things Disney, and especially enjoys exploring new experiences across Florida with family and friends.

Jamie Joyce, RRT, MBA
VP of Business Development
Jamie began his career as a respiratory therapist, for which he still maintains credentials and holds a license in his home state of New Hampshire. His healthcare experience is anchored in program development and operations as a hospital service line director.
Jamie has held various roles within the hospital setting, including critical care service line director, overseeing Intensive and Interventional care units, as well as cardiac stepdown nursing units and, most recently, as the neuroscience service line director for a healthcare system in the Northeast. It was in this role that he gained valuable experience in stroke program implementation and development, growing a primary stroke program, and leading a team in the implementation of teleneurology services for two hospitals and two free-standing emergency departments as well as the implementation of thrombectomy and comprehensive stroke services.
Jamie’s experience in healthcare administration, operations, and program development, along with his passion for improving stroke care, led him to TeleSpecialists, where he can leverage his experience and knowledge to help facilities grow their stroke and telemedicine programs, and maintain the high standards of quality required for accreditation and programmatic success.

James brings 20+ years of experience leading enterprise account management and client-facing organizations across healthcare, technology, and SaaS. He builds and scales teams, strengthens executive partnerships, and drives retention and long-term client value.
He has led dispersed teams, implemented repeatable engagement models, and developed leaders managing multi-site portfolios. He sets clear operating rhythms, leverages data to improve performance, and delivers consistent, high-quality service. James is experienced in guiding organizations through growth and change, helping clients expand programs and optimize outcomes. He is known for creating team cultures that prioritize accountability, collaboration, and measurable results.
As Vice President of Client Account Management at TeleSpecialists, James leads the Client Account Management organization and partners with health systems nationwide to provide reliable, high-impact service. His focus on leadership development, operational excellence, and client-centric execution supports TeleSpecialists’ mission to provide exceptional care and long-term programmatic success for the communities it serves.

Gayle O’Brien, MSN, RN, CPHQ
VP of Quality and Process Improvement
Gayle O’Brien earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in Ohio. Her clinical experience spans from medical-surgical through intensive care. She has held the roles of Director of Coronary Care, Director for Quality Improvement, Vice President of Quality and Safety, and Chief Quality Officer to name a few.
During her tenure she has led efforts to reduce CMS Patient Safety indicators, patient fall rates and serious safety events. She has also led actions to increase HCAHPS and Leapfrog scores. She has served as a graduate preceptor for advance role/Nurse Practitioners/MSN students. More recently, Gayle serves as the Vice President of Quality and Process Improvement at TeleSpecialists. Gayle has numerous certifications, including Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk management (CPHRM), and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Molly Reyna, MBA
Chief Strategy & Growth Officer
Molly Reyna is the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at TeleSpecialists, a physician-owned telemedicine company delivering acute and outpatient neurology and psychiatry services to hospitals nationwide. Since joining the company in 2019, Molly has played a critical role in its growth and evolution—first leading clinical operations and enterprise scaling as Chief Operating Officer, and now driving national business strategy, sales, marketing, account management, service development, and customer implementation.
With more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience, Molly has successfully built and scaled virtual care programs across academic medical centers, commercial health systems, and global markets. Her career includes executive leadership roles at Specialists On Call (now Access TeleCare), where she launched new service lines in Neurology, Psychiatry, and Critical Care, as well as operational leadership at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, overseeing Connected Care services, and Children’s National Medical Center, where she grew pediatric telehealth programs to over 200 regional/national/international sites.
Molly’s expertise spans strategy, operations, marketing, product development, and implementation, with a proven track record of executing multi-million-dollar growth strategies and national go-to-market initiatives. She is widely recognized for her ability to align organizational vision with execution—delivering measurable results that improve patient access, support hospital sustainability, and foster long-term partnership value.

Ira Siegman, MD, MBA
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Siegman joins us from Tampa, Florida, where he most recently worked for 6 years as a Chief Medical Officer within HCA, and for 6 years prior to that as Vice President of Medical Affairs for the BayCare Health System.
He received both his Bachelor’s and Medical Degrees from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and his MBA from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Prior to working in medical administration, he practiced in Tampa Bay as a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon. Dr. Siegman is married and has two sons.
With TeleSpecialists, Dr. Siegman will be responsible for leading the overall clinical vision for the organization and providing clinical guidance, support and education to the organizational divisions and the healthcare providers. He will use his expertise and leadership skills to ensure that TeleSpecialists consistently delivers the highest quality healthcare services.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and working on his golf game.
